Novell Client for Sled 10 sp2 error
« on: October 07, 2008, 07:20:28 AM »
When installing the client per Novell's instructions we get an error about novfsd failing. After some research and finding different opinions we have come to a stand still with it. We have had success installing the client on a sp1 machine with the sp1 client and also after installing sp2 upgrading the same machines to client sp2. But with a fresh install on a different machine and doing a new install of client sp2 we get the novfsd can not run. We are unable to display the novfsd interface and locate where to try to download and install the daemon. And tips?

When you say "fresh install" do you mean right out of the box, or are you registering it and running updates on it before attempting to install the NCL-SP2?

There is a post-SP2 patch for novfsd that fixed this TYPE of problem for us...

I meant we used the SLED 10sp2 dvd and installed the OS on a new pc. As far as the automatic updates we will see about getting the machines registered with novell to received the updates.
